At 20 years of age, the 2007 Vintage Fortified holds a special place in the Stanton & Killeen story. As the final vintage made by the late Chris Killeen, revered winemaker, visionary, and "Prince of Port," this wine reflects both his legacy and his deep love for traditional Portuguese varieties. Crafted from Durif, Touriga, Tinta Roriz, Shiraz, Tinto Cão and Tinta Barroca, it captures a pivotal moment in our history with grace and intensity.
It was a serious drought year, and while the summer was never punishingly hot, the dry conditions concentrated the berries beautifully, intensifying the ripeness and delivering fruit of real richness and depth. That natural concentration, paired with high quality spirit, has given a Vintage Fortified built for the long haul, with cellaring to 2035 and beyond.
The bouquet is lifted and fresh, with strawberry and juniper dancing on the nose. The palate is beautifully structured, with ripe raspberry and cherry flowing through the mid-palate before giving way to a finish of layered, fine tannins. It is complex yet approachable, with a lightness of touch that reveals Chris' influence: dry, fragrant, and composed.
A wine that will continue to blossom with time in the bottle, the 2007 Vintage Fortified is more than a milestone. It is a tribute to a man who helped shape the future of Australian fortified winemaking. Drinking beautifully now, with the structure to evolve gracefully for another twenty years.

While this is beautifully fresh, it has morphed into a very fine aged fortified. Woodsy, earthy tones with coffee and vanilla, blackberry essence and brandy-esque flavours to the spirit. Lovely balance, clean with tannins adding a raw-silk texture. A lot of emotion infused into this: a fitting tribute to Chris Killeen's skill as a fortified winemaker.

What is the difference between Standard, Premium & Deluxe?
Our Standard fortified is approximately 2-3 years old, fresh and versatile, this is a great start for a new barrel or to add fresh flavour.
Our Premium fortified is approximately 3-4 years old, perfect for those that want a drink now style or a head start on maturing your blend.
Our Deluxe fortified is 4-5 years old is the most mature and complex in the range, this is great for brand new barrels or if you want to add age and complexity to your barrel quickly.

At Liquid Luxury we pride ourselves on our range, knowledge and service of all things home barrels. We begin by supplying you with a great base material to work with and support you to create your dream fortified blend. An example of our base materials include our Standard, Premium or Deluxe blending fortified. We know that only our best barrels and casks can create our world-class Muscats, Topaques & Tawnys. Some of our barrels predate our winery and, at 150+ years of age, are still going strong and helping to create our classic, grand and rare fortified wines. For customers to replicate the barrel ageing process at home, we have teamed up with Master Cooper, Andrew Young, of the Barossa Valley to create a range of home barrels of the highest quality and craftsmanship.
